New work - Awaken

I’m back to ink on paper again (rather than acrylic on canvas) and doing more banners on Strathmore Ridge paper. The ribbed surface of the paper gives a wonderful effect, though the grooves can make calligraphy tricky!

This piece measures 10" high by 23" wide and is for sale at my etsy shop. (Click image to enlarge.)

Your choice of colors and the way you distributed the shades made the word as if it's moving or simply flouting in the misty environment you created. Very coherent with the light, sharp and elegant letters. Well Done!

I love the colors. The starkness, the crisp darks, yet the lettering floats. The last remnants of light before dark. Or is the dark fading into light. Either way it's lovely.

Yes.
Lovely Alice!
I thought at first that you just caught the light at end of day as it fell on your lettering.

Wow! I was reading an old post and I went over to see it at your shop and it was gone. Congrats on the sale! :)

This does look like awaken, the first bit of light that enters your eyes
